The Arakan Humanitarian Association recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Istanbul Sabahattin Zaeem University. This partnership aims to strengthen cooperation regarding education and humanitarian initiatives for the Rohingya community.
Executive Director Salim Al-Arkani led the delegation during the meeting with the university president. Both parties reviewed current developments concerning the Rohingya people. The discussion also highlighted the association’s ongoing efforts to support students.
Al-Arkani presented the association’s current educational projects to the university leadership. He detailed the specific objectives of their programs and the necessity of support as the new academic year begins. The meeting emphasized creating pathways for Rohingya students to access scholarships and higher education.
Istanbul Sabahattin Zaeem University has operated since 2010. It maintains a focus on academic excellence and scientific research. The institution offers programs in both Turkish and English. This environment attracts students from many different countries.
This agreement follows a previous visit by the association to Istanbul Trade University last July. During that visit, the two groups explored similar opportunities for Rohingya student scholarships. These efforts reflect a broader push to secure educational resources for displaced youth.
